makes cookies
Metabolic Studio asked me to create and orchestrate a holiday cookie delivery to the unhoused in Downtown LA. We set up a cookie decoration station for anyone to join at their Thursday night open studio. The icing used to decorate was dyed with natural flavorings of turmeric and matcha powder. I baked over 1,000 cookies and worked with many friends who gathered at the long wooden table decorating each gingerbread cookie. Right before Christmas some of the staff at Metabolic and I split into teams and distributed the cookies in partnership with some Downtown LA organizations such as Lava Mae, LACAN/Farmers Market, and the Downtown Women’s Shelter.
